Hydrogen-powered trains could be a game-changer in a polluted country like India. To generate electricity in hydrogen trains, hydrogen is stored along with oxygen on its roof. Only steam and water come out of the trains. Any heat generated while the train is in motion is used to power the train’s heating and air conditioning systems. All rail vehicles powered by hydrogen are called heidels. The biggest advantage of hydrogen fuel is that it does not pollute the environment at all.
