Actor Chris Matteis spoke about his participation in the film “Heartbreak” and the TV series “Adie Kane”.

Of his role in Heartbreak, he said: “It was fun. I liked that it was a team effort, like most indie films. Everyone could express their opinion about things and contribute. It was nice to be a producer and an actor because I was more involved in the creative process.”

“All the actors were amazing to work with,” he said.

Matthijs spoke well of working with Irene Jean Santos and Jennifer Kove. “They were both great and I had a lot of scenes with Irene who was a pleasure to work with. We had great chemistry, which was visible in the film. They were both a blast,” he said.

For his performance as Brian in Heartbreak, Matthijs was nominated for Best Actor at the 2020 Long Island International Film Exhibition. “It was great because it was my first lead role in a feature film,” he said.

Heartbreak is available at Amazon Prime Video. “There is an intimacy factor in this film. Relationship toxicity is clear and it shows that relationships are not easy,” he said.

‘Eidy Kane’

Matthäis also enjoyed starring in the comedy series Adie Kane, written and directed by Benjamin Bryant.

“Adie Kane” was nominated for two Indie Series Awards, including Best Ensemble – Comedy.

“It was a very fun project,” he admitted. “We all became friends and it was just a great time. I loved being on set. I really hope that we will continue filming it so that we can get back together because it was a great band. You can see how much fun we all had.”

“Anyone who loves sports will enjoy Ed Kane,” he said. “Comedy aside, there is truth to it. ‘Adie Kane’ is a hysterical show, but it also has a life message.”

digital age

On being an actor in the digital age, he said, “It’s different. There are definitely more options in all these different outlets. There are so many other platforms to be creative as an actor and this can be helpful.”

If he had some kind of superpower, it would be to “fly”. “So the world is your oyster and you can go anywhere, anytime,” he said.

About the title of the current chapter of his life, he said: “In progress.” “I enjoy the journey,” he said.

In track and field, he shared that he would run the 100 meters. In swimming, he has cited freestyle as his favorite style in the sport. Even in his youth, he said that he played football and loved sprinting.

Matthijs defined the word “success” simply as “the ability to work every single day as a fulfilling career.”
