“There is no greater importance than to “appear” and hold a place for a person at the end of life”

— Suzanne B. O’Brien R.N.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, USA, September 12, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — People want to be cared for at home at the end of their lives, but half of them die in a hospital or other medical facility. Family caregivers have unique needs when dealing with the challenges of death and dying, and there is a new end-of-life support and education program designed specifically for families and caregivers to help fill this care gap.
Families and caregivers are invited to join a free 90-minute virtual workshop on September 15 at 7:00 pm ET to learn how to care for the dying, with a focus on holistic care.

Dulagivers Level 1 Doula training for end-of-life care
Suzanne O’Brien RN, founder of the International Doula Institute, which trains professional death doulas who bridge the gap between patients/families and the hospice, has already delivered it to over 169,000 people worldwide.

Workshop participants will learn how to help a loved one through the initial shock of an incurable diagnosis through all three stages of the end of life. Topics covered will include end-of-life planning that prioritizes the needs and desires of the patient, facilitating conversations with friends and family to reconcile expectations, easing anxiety, and empowering the patient to take control of the end-of-life journey. The training will also include intervention strategies for each of the end-of-life stages specifically aimed at achieving the highest quality of life every day.
