Lula and Biden discussed the attacks on government buildings in Brazil by phone

BRAZIL, Jan 9 (Reuters) – Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva spoke on the phone with US President Joe Biden on Monday about the invasion of a government building in Brasilia, Lula’s office said in a statement.

Supporters of Brazil’s far-right former President Jair Bolsonaro invaded and vandalized the country’s Congress, presidential palace and Supreme Court on Sunday, echoing former President Donald Trump’s fan invasion of the US Capitol in January 2021.
