Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said today even EU leaders admit that Poland was right to warn against Russia’s imperial ambitions.
“We were treated with a pinch of salt, our voice was taken as hysterical when we warned against reviving the Kremlin’s imperial ambitions,” Morawiecki told the 2nd Conservative Summit in Bratislava on Monday.
“Today we know that our voice was prophetic, as even EU leaders admit that we were right,” Morawiecki said.
The Prime Minister stated that Central Europe has always been fully aware of the threat posed by both Russian imperialism and inaction in the face of this imperialism.
According to Morawiecki, Western Europe fell into the trap of a double stereotype of both Central Europe and Russia, because it had a huge dose of tolerance and indulgence towards Russia, but at the same time patronized the attempts of Central Europe to free itself from the post-communist melting pot.
Morawiecki also said that Central Europe was also under pressure from Russian propaganda.
“This Russian propaganda is much more visible today,” he said, admitting that it was more subtle a year or five years ago.
“We must be aware of the fact that this propaganda is trying to weaken the conservative forces that sought stability, peace and prosperity,” Morawiecki said, adding that these forces did not want to achieve these goals through federalization and centralization. European Union.
According to Morawiecki, these conservative forces want to do this on the basis of Europe and the EU created by the founding fathers.
“Based on the values of Europe, based on traditions and European culture, with respect for all 27 EU members,” the Prime Minister of Poland concluded.
